David and Mara Pickering

David began attending FCCFM in 2000 while working in Immokalee. During this time he enjoyed volunteering in the prayer ministry and Jr High youth group. In 2003 God brought David and Mara to NMSI, and at the same time to each other. David and Mara met while serving together at the CGO in Fort Myers, FL, and were married in July 2005. Their first child, Abigail, was born in January 2008.

David majored in Agri-Business at Kansas State University. He worked in the tomato industry in Florida for four years, but then felt the call to serve at NMSI. Mara majored in Inter-Cultural Studies at Hope International University.

David and Mara moved to Bulgaria in May of 2008, beginning their first 3 year term. They will be serving with BulgariaHope. BulgariaHope is involved in discipling, community development, and reconciliation projects for minority groups.
